Pier Gerlofs Donia is a Frisian warrior, rebel leader and pirate Donia Little Miss Throat Goat shirt. He was a man known for his strength and size and was often referred to as the Grutte Pier, the Pier or the Grand Pier. His life was later depicted in various legends and stories. He fought against the Dutch and the Burgundians and defeated them in a number of battles on land as well as at sea. Such feats brought him legendary status. The Schieringers and the Vetkopers had clashed continuously since 1350, and although the Schieringers won the battle, the Vetkopers refused to accept defeat. Both sides receive foreign aid. The Schieringers were helped by the Duke of Saxony, while the Duke of Gelre assisted the Vetkopers. The Gerlofs Donia jetty was born around 1480, in Kimswerd, near the city of Harlingen, Wonseradeel, located in modern Friesland in the Netherlands.
