During his writing career, Henry has published 10 volumes of stories, owning about 600 short stories. His prolific pen can be compared to the Russian master Anton Checkhov (1860-1904). In 1907, O. Henry remarried to Sara Lindsay Coleman – a close girlfriend since childhood. But their marriage was not very happy. They broke up a year later. On June 5, 1910, he died of chronic liver disease, ending a short but dramatic life.
